Every scenario below runs through the same verification engine as the production API, with the same postconditions, the same classification, the same lifecycle rules, and a genuinely signed receipt you can check on the verify page. Only the system of record is synthetic: a deterministic example ledger, clearly labelled, never counted in anyone’s metrics.
The agent's Stripe call timed out and it assumed success. The system of record has no such refund: the claim is unobserved, and telling the customer 'refunded' would be false.
All data on this page is example data (synthetic scenarios over a mock ledger). Receipts are signed with test: true inside the signed body, so a lab receipt can never be presented as a live one.
